White Pine Tree Seedlings Given to Local Students
In observance of Arbor Day, the Lawrence Soil and Water Conservation District partnered with Buckeye Rural Electric Cooperative in handing out eastern white pine tree seedlings to students in Lawrence County. The month of April is filled with Environmental Awareness Days, such as Arbor Day, Earth Day and the beginning of Soil and Water Stewardship Week.
Approximately 750 eastern white pine seedlings were individually packaged and distributed
throughout the week of Arbor Day to students. Arbor Day is celebrated on the last Friday of the month of April in Ohio.
